I never finished schooling, I ran wild and ran far.
Biked down to the dockyards to play my guitar.
And twenty years on, at work, I get the axe.
For teaching those with tunnel vision how to relax.

As a young boy I stared out every window.
Every wall that shut me in, I schemed how to get away.
Now everyone wants the truth from me, yea, they want commitment.
But the truth is in my journey – my death is not a destination…
Ive paid my dues so I can roam free and play.

Ive left more towns then you’ll ever see.
‘round every ring-road, and through the heart of the city.

Ive laid here for hours just wasting away
while the rambler inside me dies another day.
And I know to really breath ive got to get out into the fields
Where the dew chills the air and the grip of man yields.
