A stream of sunlight, hits the carpet in my hotel room,
I throw my drink into the bush and get on with what I gotta do.

I see the furtive glance in the eye of the fawn,
That’s the mystery that keeps me hanging on.

There’s a bend up ahead between the fields out on ‘four mile’ road,
Its where I see the limitlessness of life, and think about my good name.
and there’s a curse of doubt passed down from the men of proceeding generations. Failure distilled into a drop and put right into my vein.

That’s my weakness, I should be standing tall.

Should I retreat to the last highground on some mountain range?
